Communication & Expectations
Clear communication helps support students while encouraging responsibility and independence.
Because I work with over 200 students, it is important to follow a consistent process when addressing academic concerns.
Primary Communication Tool
All class communication is handled through ParentSquare.
ParentSquare is used for:
• Announcements
• Reminders
• Project and class updates
• Important links and information
Please do not use direct email unless specifically requested.
Steps for Addressing Academic Concerns
When questions arise about grades, missing work, or progress, families are asked to follow these steps in order. This process helps students develop self-advocacy and problem-solving skills.
Step 1: Check PowerSchool
Review current grades and assignment notes for feedback on student progress.
Step 2: Check Google Classroom
Confirm assignment submission status, including late or missing work.
Step 3: Grade Change Request Form
Students should complete the Grade Change Request Form in Google Classroom.
This generates a confirmation email to the student’s school account for tracking.
Please allow up to two school weeks for processing.
Step 4: Teacher Conference Request Form
If questions remain after the steps above, families may submit the Teacher Conference Request Form.
Step 5: Schedule an Appointment
If needed, a meeting may be scheduled as a final step.
Availability is limited, and prior steps must be completed before requesting a meeting.
Response Time
Families can expect a response within 1 to 2 school days.
Messages sent outside of school hours or on weekends will be addressed during the next school day.
